Anisotropic viscoelastic models with singular memory

چکیده

The physical background of singular memory models and in particular the Cole–Cole model is discussed. Three models of anisotropic linear viscoelasticity with frequency-dependent stiffness coefficients are considered. The models are constructed in such a way that anisotropic properties are separated from anelastic effects. Two of these models represent finite-speed wave propagation with singularities at the wavefronts (the exponential relaxation model) and without singularities at the wavefronts (the Cole–Cole model), while a third model called the fractional model is related to the constant Q with unbounded propagation speed. The Cole–Cole and fractional models belong to the class of singular memory models studied earlier because of their applications in polymer rheology, poroelasticity, poroacoustics, seismic wave propagation and other applications. Wellposedness of initial boundary value problems with mixed Dirichlet–Neumann boundary conditions is established for the three models. Regularity properties of the three models are examined. Generalized Fractional Derivative Anisotropic Viscoelastic Characterization

Isotropic linear and nonlinear fractional derivative constitutive relations are formulated and examined in terms of many parameter generalized Kelvin models and are analytically extended to cover general anisotropic homogeneous or non-homogeneous as well as functionally graded viscoelastic material behavior. Viscoelastic boundary stabilization for a transmission problem in elasticity

We consider an anisotropic body which is constituted by two different types of materials supporting a memory boundary condition and we show that its energy decays uniformly as time goes to infinity with the same rate as the relaxation function g, that is, the energy decays exponentially when g decays exponentially, and polynomially when g decays polynomially.

Modelling of Love Waves in Fluid Saturated Porous Viscoelastic Medium resting over an Exponentially Graded Inhomogeneous Half-space Influenced by Gravity

The present article is devoted to a theoretical study on Love wave vibration in a pre-stressed fluid-saturated anisotropic porous viscoelastic medium embedded over an inhomogeneous isotropic half-space influenced by gravity. The expression of dispersion has been achieved with the help of mathematical tools such as variable separable method and Whittaker’s function’s expansion under certain boun...

Finite Propagation Speed of Waves in Anisotropic Viscoelastic Media

Finite propagation speed properties in mathematical elastic and viscoelastic models are fundamental in many applications where the data exhibits propagating fronts. We note particularly that this property is observed in biomechanical imaging of tissue, in particular in the supersonic imaging experiment, and also in geophysics and ocean acoustics. With these applications in mind, noting that the...
